It is our proud privilege to extend a very warm invitation to the meeting of 3rd Hernia Society of india(HSI). HSI was formed by a group of like minded hernia enthusiasts,propagating hernia repair by minimal access surgery. The group comprises leading surgeons in herniology in the world today. The focus of the present meeting,as before,is on management of inguinal,ventral and incisional hernia.

The formation of Asia Pacific Hernia Society and subsequent constitution of its National Chapter Viz, Hernia Society of India,have contributed significantly to the subject of hernia.

Hernia Surgery has been practiced for close to many decades now. As such,the learning curve for hernia surgery is long over. The need of the hour is to standardize techniques and methodologies that have stood the test of evidence based medicine.

We have set in motion a process to set up working group to research and identify grey areas that exist in endoscopic hernia repair today.The aim of the exercise is to identify and deliberate the congress with a view to presenting technical views in the performance of Endoscopic hernia and open hernia surgery.
